To capture the essence of winter in the canton of Vaud, we embraced a deeply immersive approach, centered on those who experience it firsthand. The idea was simple: step into their shoes, feel their daily lives, and elevate their gestures to showcase the season in its most captivating light. Every detail matters. They are what keep the audience engaged, allowing them to feel rather than merely observe. The cold clinging to fabrics, the mist of breath in the icy air, the crunch of footsteps on snow—each sensory fragment roots the narrative in reality. Visually, this translates into slow, deliberate shots, raw and organic sound design, and tight framing on precise actions. Every movement tells a story of its own. To heighten this immersion, we pushed the cinematic treatment further: a subtle grain for texture, a slight blur at the edges to guide the eye, and carefully calibrated grading with cool, contrasted tones. The goal? That the audience doesn’t just watch the Vaud winter but feels it, inhabits it, and truly lives it.
