Done for 1843 Magazine, the story digs into Marcel Feigel’s time in Cuba in the 50s. As a 9 year-old who grew up hidden during WW2 and whose parents were sent to concentration camps, the impact upon arriving to a sunny tropical island seemed otherworldly, leaving a profound mark on his memories. The project pictures the Synagogue he used to go, his old neighbourhood and the beach that caught Marcel’s heart, where he swam, exultant, some 70 years later.
